At a sugar-fueled sleepover in the early 90's my buddy introduced me to the world of table top RPGs and a lifelong passion was born. Now the games are shorter and the snacks a little healthier, but it's still the best time.
In 30 years of gaming you see every type of player and group imaginable. My tables have included groups as large as 12 and as small as 2. I have had the pleasure of introducing many new players to this hobby as well as hosting long time vets.
Systems that I have experience with include: HERO system, Savage Worlds, Legend of the Five Rings, World of Darkness, Shadowrun, many versions of Star Wars, and of course Dungeons and Dragons.
While I do offer shorter games and one-shots, my 'bread-and-butter' are long-term campaigns.
There is nothing else like the feeling of finishing a long-term game. When you start at level one and spend years growing together the characters become so much more than numbers on a sheet.
The sad fact is that most D&D games don't last that long and the story usually goes unfinished. This is especially true with online games.
I offer a more reliable option. My tables have completed dozens of long games, including many that went all the way to level 20.
The love, hate, friendships, and adventure may be imaginary, but we will remember them our entire lives. Decades from now you will be telling all the old folks at the retirement home about that time you rolled a Critical Hit against the Red Dragon. That is how we make magic real by rolling dice.
It's impossible to guarantee how long a campaign will last. But over 90% of my games finish as planned, with most homebrew games reaching max level (Level 20 in D&D).
Communication is paramount. There is no wrong way to play and everyone should have fun and be comfortable. We start with 'session zero' discussions and keep open conversations throughout the game.
I pride myself on being flexible. Each player and each group has different expectations. This means there is a wide variety of styles in my games. What kind of story do you want to tell? Who do you want to be in this fantasy world?
I want my players to win, but I don't want it to be easy. And no matter what happens the story moves forward. My games lean somewhat into combat and fast-paced action, but that action takes place in a vibrant world with memorable people, places, and events.
The maturity of content in my games varies. Most are appropriate for teens and above. Some are rated-R games for adults. Make sure to check your game's description for content warnings. I do not run X-rated or pornographic games.
Everyone is welcome at my table. If you are new to table top gaming, I am more than happy to help you learn.
I do not tolerate bigotry or bullying of any kind in my games. Members of the LGBT+ community, people of color, those with disabilities or special needs, and anyone who has ever felt bullied or excluded are all welcome at my table.
